What’s new at Hamilton Street?

Our February 2012 newsletter is now online!

February 16th – Higher Hope, our new ministry for women who experienced the loss of a child, meets from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at HSBC. Our mission is to provide biblical hope, comfort, and support to grieving women who have experienced the loss of a child. Group meetings are open to all women in the community. For more information, join us on our Facebook page.

March 9-10 – The 40th annual Sports for Christ Retreat takes place at the Kirksville Primary and Middle Schools March 9-10. Join hundreds of area youth as they compete in sporting events, Bible Quiz, and hear powerful messages about the truth of Christ! This year’s theme is “We Won’t Back Down!”

March 31 – Easter Egg Hunt! Join us at PC Mills Park at 11 am for our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Children ages 2-10 are invited to join us for this fun event! There will be prizes and a special presentation. In the event of rain or snow, the event will be held at the church.

Sports for Christ Retreat Practices – All youth grades 6-12 are invited to join us as we practice volleyball, basketball, and soccer for this year’s Sports for Christ Retreat. Practices begin Sunday, January 29th and meet every Sunday for 6 weeks. We meet from 2-4 PM at the Rehoboth Baptist Church Gym.

Family devotions – Family Worship Guides to help your family read through the Bible together are available in the church foyer. We are beginning in Genesis, and will celebrate milestones along the way. The next set of Family Worship Guides will be available the second week in February.

Hamilton Street Baptist Church is now an Adair County Mobile Food Bank site! In February, we distributed food to over 400 people representing 140 families! The March distribution date will be announced shortly. You do not need to provide proof of income to receive assistance.

Loving our Neighbors: In February, the HSBC Youth and Family ministry will be sharing the sweet news of God’s love for us through His Son, Jesus Christ, by sharing a sweet treat with our neighbors. Please share your Valentine’s candy donation in the box in the foyer. Thank you!

HSBC D6!

What is HSBC D6?

It’s our new family ministry program at Hamilton Street! Rooted in the principles of Deuteronomy 6, this is a great way for parents, grandparents, families, and kids to learn how to live and grow in their faith – not just at church but all day, every day. Even if you aren’t a parent, HSBC D6 is for you too! Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and singles…all are welcome and encouraged to participate!   Learn more on our HSBC D6 Family Ministry page!
