Core Beliefs

The Essentials We Believe:

About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  There is one and only one living and true God.  He has eternally existed in three personalities:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

About Salvation
Salvation is offered freely to all that accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  It is a free gift and we can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  When we turn to Jesus in faith we are saved and eternal life begins at that moment.

About the Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us.  Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote it.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  God inspired it and it is the truth without any mixture of error.

About the Church
Christ is the head of our church, not any person, group, or religious organization.  We believe the local church should be self-governing and independent from any denominational control.  As a local body of baptized believers, we observe the two ordinances taught by Christ, which are baptism and the Lord's Supper.

About Man
Man was created in the image of God, to be like Him in character.  People are the supreme object of God's creation.  By his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.  This is what separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
